SpookyAdventure

is a 2D platformer inspired by many famous classics of the genre, but with a touch of mystery and light horror.

In the main story, you control Zeno, an 8-year-old child searching for his parents, who are lost on a haunted island.

GAMEPLAY

Gameplay depends on which character you play. Each character has unique abilities or a different playstyle. To unlock new characters, just explore the levels — there will always be a hidden challenge waiting to unlock them. With more characters, you can also play local multiplayer with your friends on the same device! And in the future, Online Multiplayer is planned.

Each "Zone" (an environment of the island) contains mechanics that interact with the character you are playing, with adaptations for certain characters. Before entering a level, check which characters are recommended. Zeno, the main character, can throw and aim a tennis ball. It interacts with the world: it can catch fire to burn obstacles, absorb electricity to power up mechanisms, and more.

In the future, all characters will have an Upgrade System. By collecting a special collectible called Blue Fire, you can improve their abilities and choose what to upgrade.

This is not just a stat boost. The more you upgrade an ability, the more it evolves with new powers! For example, upgrading your jump might grant an extra jump to characters who can't double jump, as well as reduce landing recovery time.

Some Zones are heavily focused on exploration to find rewards. It's not just left-to-right — there are multiple routes to reach your goal.

But what might truly scare you is that there is a certain thing dominating this game... It can be hidden or disguised as anything. Enemies may not always behave the same, and there will be moments where you will truly notice something strange happening in the game. So pay attention to details! This may also depend on the version you are playing...

ADDITIONAL INFO

In the future, this game will have many features — depending on your feedback — such as Online Multiplayer, DLCs, in-game Modding without needing much code, a Shop, compatibility/modding with other games, and more.

The game will also have different versions depending on where it's published. We plan to release on: Itch.io, GameJolt, Google Play Store, Steam, Epic Games, Newgrounds and others.
